Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2011 Acura TL?
The NHTSA records provided show 20 recall actions affecting the 2011 Acura TL across fuel pump, transmission, air bag, engine timing, fuel tank and label issues. Key components called out include fuel pump failures or contamination (multiple actions), driver air bag inflator risks, transmission shift and park lock concerns, timing belt tooth separation, and an incorrect certification label. These recalls were initiated by American Honda Motor Co. and published in NHTSA records; recall numbers and owner contact guidance are provided in the original NHTSA notices.
How do I check if my 2011 Acura TL has an open recall?
You can verify open recalls by entering your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bringing the vehicle to our service department for a free check. Coggin Acura Fort Pierce will run an OEM-level VIN check and confirm any open manufacturer recalls at no charge—you may also schedule service online for a quick inspection. Always use the VIN lookup on NHTSA.gov for an independent record and keep recall notifications from Honda or Acura for reference.
How much does a 2011 Acura TL recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for safety-related defects are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. At Coggin Acura Fort Pierce we perform recall repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost under the manufacturer program; incidental services outside the recall scope may have fees. If you need help with payment for non-recall work, ask about our service financing options so you can get essential repairs now and pay over time.
Can I get my 2011 Acura TL recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed with the manufacturer-approved procedure and are best performed by a certified franchise dealership to ensure OEM parts and proper warranty tracking. Coggin Acura Fort Pierce is a certified Acura dealer with factory-trained technicians, OEM diagnostic tools, and access to manufacturer remedy parts—this ensures the repair is tracked properly with NHTSA/Honda records. Independent shops may perform some work, but recall remedy parts, official software updates, and manufacturer tracking are handled most reliably at a franchise dealer.
How long does a 2011 Acura TL recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: software updates may take less than an hour while parts replacements (fuel pump, air bag inflator, timing belt) can take several hours to a day depending on parts availability. Certain fuel pump and air bag inflator remedies listed by NHTSA can require parts ordering; Coggin Acura Fort Pierce will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule service. If you need faster scheduling, check our current offers under service specials and ask about loaner or shuttle options when you book.
Does an open recall affect my 2011 Acura TL's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved safety recall can negatively affect trade-in offers and resale prospects because buyers and dealers often check NHTSA records and VIN status before purchase. Resolving recalls at a certified dealer like Coggin Acura Fort Pierce ensures the vehicle’s repair history shows manufacturer-compliant remedies, which protects resale value and accelerates trade-in processing—start your appraisal at our trade-in page. We recommend resolving recalls promptly to avoid delays in sale, reduced offers, or questions from insurance and title services.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2011 Acura TL recall?
Some states or local inspections may flag unresolved safety recalls—unaddressed air bag or major transmission defects could be a compliance concern during inspections. To avoid inspection or registration complications in Fort Pierce, FL and nearby areas, have Coggin Acura Fort Pierce verify and complete recall remedies at no cost. We will also provide documentation of completed manufacturer repairs that you can present to inspection or registration authorities.
