Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

12 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2015 Acura ILX?
The NHTSA has issued 28 recalls that affect the 2015 Acura ILX, covering driveshafts, airbags, headlights, door latches, fuel tanks, and fuel pumps. Key components in these recalls include the driveshaft (possible separation or break), driver frontal air bag inflators (risk of rupture or explosion), headlight overheating, front door latch cable issues, and fuel-tank or fuel-pump faults causing inaccurate fuel readings or pump failure. All manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge at a certified dealer like Coggin Acura Fort Pierce; to book a time, please schedule service.
How do I check if my 2015 Acura ILX has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Coggin Acura Fort Pierce for a free dealer VIN check. The NHTSA VIN lookup is the authoritative source; our factory-trained technicians will confirm any open recalls and explain the repair. If you prefer in-person assistance, schedule service and we will inspect your VIN at no charge.
How much does a 2015 Acura ILX recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2015 Acura ILX are free of charge when performed under the manufacturer recall program. Coggin Acura Fort Pierce uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians, so there are no out-of-pocket costs for covered recall repairs unless you request non-recall work. If you need help with unrelated service, ask about service financing or complete a pre-approval at pre-approval.
Can I get my 2015 Acura ILX recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to guarantee OEM parts and the official manufacturer remedy; Coggin Acura Fort Pierce is your certified Acura franchise for recall work. Independent shops cannot provide official recall remedy parts or the warranty of a factory-performed recall repair, and some insurance or inspection outcomes may require dealer documentation. To ensure the repair is recorded with the manufacturer, schedule service with our certified team.
How long does a 2015 Acura ILX recall repair take?
Repair time varies by campaign: many recalls are single-part replacements that take a few hours, while inspections or parts backorders can extend timing; Coggin Acura Fort Pierce will provide a specific estimate when you arrive. For example, driveshaft or fuel-tank inspections often take one visit for inspection and only longer if a replacement part is needed; air bag inflator replacements depend on part availability and can be scheduled promptly at our Fort Pierce service center. To reduce wait time, please schedule service ahead of arrival and check our current offers under service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2015 Acura ILX's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in or resale value because many buyers and dealers verify VIN recall status before purchase. Clearing recalls at Coggin Acura Fort Pierce protects your vehicle value and documents the repair on manufacturer records, which can improve offers from buyers or dealers. If you want an appraisal after repairs, visit our trade-in page at value your trade and ask our team about documented recall remedies.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2015 Acura ILX recall?
Some state inspections or safety checks may consider recall-related defects (like inoperative headlights or fuel-system issues) relevant to pass/fail decisions; therefore an open recall can contribute to inspection failure in some states. Addressing recalls promptly at a certified dealer like Coggin Acura Fort Pierce ensures repairs are performed correctly and recorded with the manufacturer, minimizing inspection risk. To confirm whether your vehicle's open recalls could affect inspection in Fort Pierce or surrounding areas, schedule service for a free VIN check.

Defects reported to the NHTSA for this vehicle include driveshaft separation or breakage that can cause sudden loss of drive or unintended vehicle movement, driver frontal air bag inflators that may rupture and send sharp metal fragments into the cabin, headlight overheating that reduces night visibility and poses a fire risk, front door latch cable issues that can allow a door to open while driving, and fuel-tank or fuel-pump faults that can cause inaccurate fuel readings or engine stalls.
