Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2016 Acura RDX?
The NHTSA has issued 14 recalls affecting the 2016 Acura RDX, covering air bag, transmission, fuel pump, and certification label issues. These recalls include nine air bag inflator/moisture intrusion campaigns, one brake-shift interlock campaign, three low-pressure fuel pump campaigns, and one certification label campaign; all remedies are free from the manufacturer.
How do I check if my 2016 Acura RDX has an open recall?
You can check open recalls by entering your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting our service team at Coggin Acura Fort Pierce for a free check. If you prefer hands-on help, bring your VIN to our service desk and we will verify open recalls and advise next steps — or schedule service online for a convenient appointment.
How much does a 2016 Acura RDX recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2016 Acura RDX are completed free of charge under the manufacturer recall program. All recall work at Coggin Acura Fort Pierce uses OEM parts and is performed by factory-trained technicians; ask about available service financing so you can get any additional maintenance now and pay later.
Can I get my 2016 Acura RDX recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and a warranty on the remedy; Coggin Acura Fort Pierce is the certified Acura dealer in Fort Pierce, FL. Independent shops cannot always obtain manufacturer remedy parts or warranty-covered inflator replacements and interlock updates; trust factory-trained techs for proper recall compliance and documentation.
How long does a 2016 Acura RDX recall repair take?
Repair time depends on the recall type, but many air bag inflator or certification label replacements take under a day; some fuel pump or interlock fixes may require parts and take longer. Schedule an appointment and we will provide an estimated turnaround; use our online schedule service tool or call the service desk for exact timing and ask about our current service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2016 Acura RDX's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in offers and may make buyers hesitant because recalls indicate known safety or compliance issues. Coggin Acura Fort Pierce documents completed recall repairs using manufacturer records, which protects resale and trade-in value; get it fixed at our certified service center and then visit our trade-in team.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2016 Acura RDX recall?
Some recalls affect equipment required for safe operation and may cause an inspection failure depending on state rules; unresolved safety recalls can have inspection or registration consequences. If you have an inspection concern, contact Coggin Acura Fort Pierce and we will verify open recalls and schedule appointment to install remedies at no cost to you.

Defect

Honda is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 CR-V, Odyssey, and model year 2013 Acura RDX vehicles. The recall is expected to begin May 13, 2013. Owners may contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009. Honda's campaign recall numbers are S96, S97, and S98.
